Youth & Growth · Children & adolescents
Understand their potential.
A genetic assessment designed for young people, covering growth and development alongside sports genetic predisposition — presented as tendencies and potential, never as fixed outcomes.
Area one
Growth & development
Genetic tendencies related to growth and development, presented as estimated characteristics to be considered alongside a young person’s age, stage and environment.
- Estimated growth-related characteristics based on genetic tendencies
- Development-related traits considered alongside age and stage
- Nutrition-related traits relevant during growth
- Bone and connective tissue related tendencies
Area two
Sports genetic predisposition
Sports-related traits and tendencies that can add context to how a young athlete trains, recovers and develops — never a recommendation about which sport to play.
- Power and endurance predisposition
- Sports-related traits linked to movement and athletic tendency
- Recovery-related tendencies during training
- Injury-related predispositions to consider in youth sport
Genetics is only one component of growth and athletic development.
Nutrition, sleep, health, coaching, training environment, enjoyment and time all shape how a young person grows and develops as an athlete. This assessment describes genetic predisposition and tendencies — it does not determine height, ability or sporting future.

Frequently asked
Can this tell us how tall my child will be?
No. Genetics cannot determine exactly how tall a child will become. The assessment describes genetic tendencies and estimated characteristics only, and height is strongly influenced by nutrition, health, sleep and environment.
Will it tell us which sport my child should play?
No. The assessment describes sports-related genetic predispositions and tendencies. It does not select a sport, and it should never be used to limit a young person’s opportunities or enjoyment.
Is Youth & Growth part of MOVE, TRAIN, PERFORM or PEAK?
No. It is a separate assessment designed for children and adolescents, and is not a level of the Sports DNA progression.
How is the sample collected?
Youth & Growth uses the same sample collection workflow as the Sports DNA assessments. No needles, no blood and no clinic visit required.
How do I receive my results?
Results are delivered digitally, so you can explore your personalised insights online.
What can genetic results tell me?
Genetic results describe tendencies and predispositions. They are one input alongside training, nutrition, environment, coaching and lifestyle — they do not determine athletic outcomes.
Youth & Growth is not a medical or diagnostic assessment. It describes genetic predisposition, potential, tendencies and estimated characteristics. Decisions about a young person’s health, growth or sporting participation should always be made with appropriate professional guidance.
